As spring approaches, the Worldly Church of Liberalism
(aka Democrats) faces a crisis. Identity politics has
brought them to this quandry, and they will soon come
to know its sting. Can being black trump being female?
Is Barack really black? He was raised white, wasn't he?
Is Hillary really a woman? She was raised in privilege
and lived her entire life in service to her husband's interests.
The question comes down to what gets priority: The Beatification
of Saint Barry or the Coronation of Queen Hillary?
This entire scenario may well play out like Henry II (Clinton)
vs. Thomas Becket (Obama). I'm sure Clinton's courtiers have
already heard her version of "Will no one rid me of this
turbulent priest?" Their swords are already unsheathed. Her
will to power is such that she will gladly suffer a public
flogging for bringing low her antagonist, as long as the crown
remains hers. The crisis will be in managing the identity
groups so that feelings are not permanently hurt and images are
not seriously tarnished. Of course, the news outlets can be
relied upon to cover up the carnage, but there may be too much
blood to hide.
